The Boat Jetty Bungalow was originally known as P.K.V House, residence of the Puthenpurackal family, an aristocratic family which was one of the oldest Christian families in Kerala. The P.K.V House (Tharavadu) was built in the year 1891 by Late Rao Sahib P.K.Varughese, a prominent lawyer & Senior Adviser to the Maharajah of Cochin.
